Meet Our Moos

We want to introduce five stars of our Highland Cow Cottage: Alfie, Agnes, Liz, Megan, and Sofia.

Alfie and Liz have yellow coats and Megan red, which are characteristic of the Highland cattle breed. Sofia, on the other hand, stands out with her striking black coat, adding a unique touch to the group. Agnes is yellow-colored and the newest addition to our little fold.

They have a double-layered coat. The long hair is the waterproof part, and the shorter hair underneath is the insulation. They shed a lot of shorter/insulation hair in the summer, and the long hair stays to protect them from the sun.

Their hair is providing them with protection against the unpredictable weather.

Photos and Feedings

Taking photos and feeding the Highland cows is a heartwarming and picturesque experience. With your camera in hand, you can capture the charm of these majestic creatures. Their shaggy coats, distinctive horns, and soulful eyes make for stunning subjects.

When it comes to feeding them, you are more than welcome to offer them treats – apples, white bread, carrots, and bananas. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and create lasting memories, all while getting some incredible photos to remember the day.
